Key points of JIS draft

The outline of the JIS draft in the following table is at the public opinion acceptance stage. They may be changed or corrected depending on the results of deliberation of JIS drafting & deliberation Committee instituted in the  Accredited Standards Developing Organization.

Standard number C3216-3
Standard title Winding wires-Test methods-Part 3:Mechanical properties
Objective This standard stipulates test methods for the mechanical properties of various enameled copper wires, enameled aluminum wires, and spiral-wound copper wires and spiral-wound aluminum wires used for windings. This standard is being revised to enhance the content of the standard in light of recent production and usage trends.
The main revisions are as follows:
- In adhesion tests for varnish-impregnated fiber-wound round and rectangular wires, fiber-wound enameled round and rectangular wires, and tape-wound round and rectangular wires, the method will be revised to measure the length of the lifted coating from the cut in the longitudinal direction of the wire, in order to more clearly confirm coating lift.

- In fusion tests, the scope of application will be revised to include enameled rectangular wires in line with market trends.

- In the slip resistance test, the content of dynamic friction test method 2 (enameled round wires with a nominal conductor diameter of over 0.05 mm to 1.6 mm) has been revised to reflect actual conditions, and ゛exceeds゛ has been added to the lower limit and ゛less than゛ to the upper limit for each conductor diameter range.
The number and equivalent nature sign of an international standard which were used as the foundation MOD IEC 60851-3:2023, Winding wires-Test methods-Part 3: Mechanical properties
International classification for standard, ICS 29.060.10
