This standard specifies the calibration of hardness standard blocks used in Rockwell hardness tests， but it is being revised to enhance the content of the standard in light of recent production and usage trends. The main revisions are as follows: - The direct verification cycle for testing machines and the calibration cycle for indenters will be changed in accordance with corresponding international standards. - The provisions regarding the position of the indenter mounting axis for calibrating test forces will be abolished. - The comparative verification with a standard diamond indenter will be revised to a recommendation in light of actual operational conditions. - Management methods for calibration testing machines will be added as Annex D in accordance with corresponding international standards. |
